Store Manager — Charlotte Running Company Riverwalk

In 2016, Charlotte Running Company opened its Riverwalk location in Rock Hill, SC, creating a store unlike any other in our family of locations. Situated along the Catawba River and surrounded by more than five miles of running and walking trails right outside the door, Riverwalk is more than a retail store—it is part of an active, growing community.

We are looking for a Store Manager who wants to be deeply involved in that community and take ownership of the store’s success. This role is about much more than managing a sales floor. It is about leading a team, creating an exceptional customer experience, building relationships with local runners and organizations, developing events and training programs, and helping grow the business.

The right person will bring energy, leadership, initiative, and a genuine passion for running, walking, fitness, and people. Store Manager 

Pay Rate: $45,000 Base Salary

Monthly bonus: earn 5% of gross sales increase vs previous year’s monthly comp 

Evaluation after first 60 days with Ownership

Simple IRA: match 3% of money invested after one year

Vacation: two weeks starting on 1/1/2027 – one week for remaining 2026

Insurance: % of monthly premium coverage

Moving allowance if needed: up to $1,000 to be approved by Ownership

Initial Job Responsibilities and Expectations: 

• Monthly meeting with Ownership – cover everything from sales, staffing, inventory, community outreach, business development, training programs, in-store events
• Produce the monthly store schedule (through the first weekend of the following month) which will be published by the 20th of each month. 
• Work with team on territory in-store events with community/team partners, health fairs, doctor calls, lunch & learns, prescription pad distribution.
• Work with the team on Spring and Fall training programs 
• Work on the floor assisting customers when needed.
• Assist - Assistant Manager regarding nutrition, accessory needs, injury prevention, socks, foot beds etc.
• Help maintain a clean and organized store.
• Purchase supplies for the store as needed. 
• In charge of merchandising clothing and store layout
• Model a positive customer service spirit by greeting customers as they enter the store.
• Exhibit a friendly and helpful attitude with customers and sales associates.
• Handle all special orders and fill-ins on Mondays and Thursdays
• Provide information on products, programs, runs, races, clubs, classes and all things running, walking and fitness to our customers.
• Follow opening and closing procedures – set/be the standard.
• Arrive at work 30 minutes before opening shift and 5 minutes before mid-day shift. 
• Work with a team to see what the needs are regarding vendor promotions, wear test runs, special events, health fairs, running groups, races etc. 
• Develop and maintain a relationship with all footwear and tech reps. 
• Set the example for the staff, dress professionally, no hats, no flip flops, no slides.
• Help generate new business by working with the ownership, management, brand manager, and business development teams as needed.
• Represent Charlotte Running Company in a professional manner at work and in the community.
