President's Letter - Board Nominations

Our current Running Industry Association Board will soon be saying goodbye to four incredible members. Each of these individuals has volunteered their time, resources, and expertise to advance our organization and serve our membership with passion and dedication.

With their departure, we now have the important task of filling three retail seats and one brand seat on the Board.

Nominations can be submitted through this Google Form and must be received by October 31st. The Board interview process will take place November 3rd–7th, with recommendations presented at our November General Body Meeting on November 10th. The voting period will then run from November 17th–21st.

We look forward to introducing our new Board Members during our All Member Meeting on December 2nd at The Running Event in San Antonio, Texas.

This meeting is one of the few times we all have to sit together, ask questions, and connect in-person. Please prioritize your attendance and make your way in promptly; make it easy on our Executive Director, Terry Schalow, so that he is not having to corral and chase you through the halls of the convention center. Bring a listening ear and genuine perspective. Please share, engage and remain attentive.

As my own time as President nears its end, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude. Serving in this role has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional life. Every conversation, email, and shared idea has reminded me that progress takes many forms and each one of you has been part of that inspiration.

As you consider nominations, I encourage you to think deeply about what the Running Industry Association means to you. What faces come to mind when you think about this community? Please take a moment to nominate and help us ensure that no deserving candidate goes unseen.

There is not a single store or brand in this association that isn’t qualified or worthy of consideration.
