Think Tank Posting Guidelines and Etiquette

Thank you for being part of the RIA Think Tank, an active forum for special run professionals wanting to leverage insights from peers.

The Think Tank is a fantastic tool to get the advice of your peers, learn from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. To ensure the best possible experience for all RIA members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation in the forum. Please take a moment to read through the guidelines.

By participating in the Think Tank, you agree that you have read these rules thoroughly, and will engage appropriately. If you have questions about these guidelines or the tools themselves, contact the RIA administrative team at This email address is being protected from spambots. To preserve a climate that encourages productive and respectful dialogue, the RIA reserves the right to moderate Think Tank posts, delete objectionable material, and in some cases, terminate accounts for members who violate these rules.

Think Tank Posting Rules and Guidelines

  1. Be courteous. Apply the Golden Rule when you post.
  2. Don’t attack others. The discussions on the Think Tank are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create adversarial dialogue. Let others have their say. If you disagree, respond respectfully.
  3. No promotions. Think Tank messages should not contain promotional material, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. The RIA provides separate platforms for communications of this nature.
  4. Use caution when discussing brands, products, services, or individual members. Negative commentary posted on this platform is available for all to see, and is subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws. (see legal section below for more information on anti-trust laws)
