Gazelle Sports Retail Store Manager (Full Time) - Holland, MI
Position Vision:
The Store Manager is the cultural and operational leader of the Holland store. This person leads by example, actively present on the selling floor, modeling Gazelle Sports’ core values in every customer interaction, team conversation, and community touchpoint. They set the standard for what exceptional looks like, and they inspire their team to meet and exceed it every day.
As a store leader, this person directly leads all levels from Sales Floor Leaders to Sales Associates. They drive store operations and execute brand initiatives including annual budgets, labor management, expenses, activations, and programs. They are tasked with delivering all the team and business results of the store. The ideal candidate is passionate about movement, specialty retail, and eager to be an actively engaged member of the local running community.
Inspire, Model & Lead:
- Visibly embodying Gazelle Sports’ core values in daily interactions with customers and team members.
- Lead from the floor: dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week to active selling floor presence, modeling exceptional customer experience standards firsthand.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview and train new team members to meet store and company expectations.
- Coach and develop Sales Floor Leaders to deliver a world class customer experience in the manager’s absence.
- Provide timely, well-documented performance evaluations with clear and actionable feedback.
- Handle performance coaching and improvement action processes in accordance with Gazelle Sports policy.
- Consistently mentor team members through regular check-ins, on the fly coaching and documented development plans.
- Create monthly team schedules, adjust daily schedules that meet the needs of the store while maintaining budget.
- Oversee day-to-day operational needs of the store, including front of the house and back of the house.
Position Expectations:
Business and Operations:
- Responsible for delivering results against the store budget.
- Proficient in business analytics and tactics that drive sales; lead ongoing monitoring of the financial performance.
- Accountable for all store operations; including shipping and receiving, visual merchandising and bookkeeping.
- Responsible for store payroll approval.
Community and Brand:
- Maintain meaningful relationships with key community partners, vendors, local businesses and other strategic partners.
- Create and support collaborative opportunities with community organizations that align with Gazelle Sports’ mission and values.
- Support community outreach and event execution that reflects a consistent and authentic brand message.
- Promote a diverse and inclusive environment for team members, customers and community partners.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years of retail or customer service experience.
- At least one year of leadership or management experience.
- Passion for running, fitness or active lifestyle retail strongly preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Minimum of 20 hours on the selling floor per week.
- Flexibility and willingness to work a combination of mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business.
- Ability to lift and move 25lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
