Position Vision: The visual merchandising coordinator provides leadership to the store regarding product placement, fixturing, signing, window displays, pricing accuracy and all aesthetic store components that enhance the brand image for customers. The person in this role is instrumental in contributing to the sales ability of the product by maximizing its visual appeal.
Position Expectations:
- Uphold store’s visual merchandising excellence
- Plans, executes and updates all visual displays (walls, tables, windows, etc.) according to Gazelle Sports visual merchandising standards to reflect current product assortment, brand marketing plan, and sell-through data
- Leverages the visual guides, weekly emails, and other internal resources to make merchandising decisions
- Executes promotional signage schedule at the direction of the Buying Team and maintains year-round signage according to brand standards - both permanent signs and temporary.
- Leads all major sales and promotions by determining product organization, placement, and signing
- Has working knowledge of all merchandising assets (fixtures, mannequins, hardware, lighting, signage, hangers, etc.); cleans, organizes and maintains all assets; communicates needs for repairs, replacements or additional purchases; contributes insights to the annual capital request budget process
- Leadership
- Trains new employees in Visual Merchandising Standards and provides ongoing coaching to all team members
- Supports a whole-team approach to visual merchandising by regularly sharing visual knowledge and goals
- Represents store on visual calls and in meetings.
- Shares examples of visual displays with peers to inspire others and to receive feedback
- Support product flow and management of store’s inventory
- Works with store managers, sales floor leaders, and shipping & receiving staff to prioritize product movement to the sales floor
- Has awareness of price changes and stock balances. Supports these processes as needed or as directed by the Store Manager.
- Communicates restocking needs to Store Manager and/or SFL
- Determines and communicates placement of security tags on product
- Communicates critical stock fill in needs to Buying Team
- Seek knowledge and growth opportunities
- Takes initiative to identify and solve problems
- Takes responsibility for professional growth by staying abreast of merchandising relevance in marketplace
- Innovates visual approach within the Gazelle Sports visual merchandising standards

Position Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 3 years experience in retail
- Experience in specialty retail
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility and willingness to work a combination of mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business with evening and weekend availability required
- Must work a minimum of 1 scheduled floor shift per week
- Commit to a minimum of scheduled visual merchandising hours, as determined by specific location store manager
