Running Zone - General Manager

Position Description: 

The General Manager will work alongside team members ensuring that our customer experience and store procedures are achieved to the highest standards.  This individual will play an integral role in effectively communicating initiatives from ownership to the team and will help support the daily operations of the business. The General Manager will contribute to Running Zone’s overall position as a community leader with the mission to build and serve our running community.

Reporting:

• Reporting to ownership
• Direct Reports are the Operations Manager, Customer Experience Manager and Senior Product Line Manager

Position Expectations:

• Help establish and achieve team standards with the leadership team in areas of sales and customer service
• Supervise product team to ensure product needs and profitability
• Override policies in the best interest of customer experience and lifetime value
• Proactively make staffing adjustments to achieve payroll goals

Responsibilties:

• Motivate and inspire team members to always create the Running Zone Experience
• Lead by example to ensure higher team member retention and product knowledge
• Assist in the recruiting and hiring process of Fit Specialists
• Lead product training for all Fit Specialists
• Assist in team member training, development, motivation, moral, and operational efficiency
• Create employee schedules to meet customer demands and payroll requirements
• Communicate and recommend upcoming personnel changes
• Work the sales floor to ensure every customer always receives the Running Zone experience
• Conduct and lead monthly full team meetings for all team members and bi-weekly Leadership Team meeting team
• Execute Leadership Team annual reviews and assist with Fit Specialists reviews in collaboration with Customer Experience Manager
• Fiscal responsibility to seek opportunities to increase business and reduce costs
• Collaborate with owner/leadership team for team and/or individual development
• Convey and relate company decisions and policies to team
• Ownership of sales floor appearance
• Guide the product and operations teams for the best interest of Running Zone
• Collaborate with ownership and Senior Product Line Manager to ensure inventory levels, budget and GMROI are met
• Oversee all facility maintenance in partnership with Operations Manager
• Help execute Running Zone events
• Assist in leading “daily huddle” with Customer Experience Manager and team members

• Achieves Sales Plan
• Achieves Margin Plan
• Achieves GMROE plan

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000
