The Position
Pacers Running is a run specialty retail company with locations across the DC region and a growing e-commerce and 3P business. The Senior Buyer will plan, buy, and manage all Pacers Running product inventory for the retail locations and e-commerce. They love running gear and are passionate about helping others through running and walking. They are also data-driven, organized, and always learning, able to react quickly to trends and opportunities.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage and adjust in-stock position and pricing to meet company financial targets.
- Build future and at-once orders based on current business trends, forecasted sales, budget, and strategic growth opportunities.
- Visit our stores and competition regularly to understand our team's and customers' needs.
- Regularly communicate with store teams on key items, promotions, and vendor updates.
- Responsible for RA's, transfers, markdowns, and SMU product requests.
- Represent Pacers Running with vendor partners and work closely with them to plan inventory and sales growth, as well as return to vendor and product swaps when necessary.
- Communicate key items, promotions, and storytelling opportunities with brand, marketing, and store teams.
- Partner with our shipping and receiving team to efficiently deliver products to the proper business units.
- Mentor/coach the apparel and accessory buyer to build a cohesive inventory plan that meets the needs of our strategic priorities, forecast, and customers.

Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 4 years in retail buying with a proven track record of success in strategic sourcing and vendor management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build vendor relationships, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and present ideas effectively
- Experience with an omnichannel retail environment
- Passion for outdoor activities and a genuine interest in the products we offer

Workplace
The work location must be in the greater Washington, DC, metro area. It is a hybrid position, with a minimum of 50% time at the warehouse or office and working in retail stores as needed.
